The fish drying company Laugafiskur is a subsidiary of Brim and is responsible for drying and selling heads, bones and cutlets that are produced by Brim. The company is an important link in the full utilization of the catch, but the heads and ridges of cod, haddock and saithe are dried and sold to Nigeria, where there is a rich tradition of consuming dishes made from dried fish. Fish drying at Laugafisk is done indoors in specially designed drying rooms. This shortens the drying time, reduces the environmental impact and maintains the quality of the products.
